The evidence is clear. We really can heal ourselves and our Mother Earth through intent, love, and the action of scientific prayer. Belief is not really required, except for one thing: If we don't believe it, we won't do it.

And so, since a picture is worth much more than any number of words, this article contains the most convincing pictures we could find, demonstrating how our thoughts, words, and feelings affect so-called physical reality, right down to the molecular level! Do you still doubt the power of prayer? Or do you doubt that your thoughts and feelings truly impact the world around you? If so, viewing the work of Japan's Dr. Masaru Emoto's will erase these doubts forever.

The seminal experiment of Dr. Emoto's work was made at Japan's Fujiwara Dam. First, a photo (at left) was taken of a frozen water sample from the lake there. As you can see, the water's structure is dark and amorphous, with no crystalline form.


After this control sample of water had been photographed, Dr. Emoto asked the Reverend Kato Hoki - chief priest of the Jyuhouin Temple - to conduct a one-hour prayer practice beside the dam.
After the prayer session had been done, a new water sample was taken, frozen, and photographed. The change, as you can see in the photograph at the right, was stunning. The ugly blob of the former sample had become a clear, bright-white, hexagonal crystal-within-a-crystal.

Dr. Emoto soon learned that positive words or prayers would always create crystalline structures in formerly amorphous water. And even more amazing, the crystals were as varied in shape and color as the words or prayers used to produce them.

At left, shown for comparison purposes, is a representative photograph of "untreated" distilled water. Different samples of distilled water show different patterns, but they all are like this one in that there are no crystal forms.
Then, when this water is treated by taping positive words to the bottles, praying over them, playing harmonious music to them - even exposing them to floral essences - these beautiful crystalline formations emerge.

Dr. Emoto also learned that the same word in a different language will produce different results. For example, "Thank you" in English evokes different crystal formations than "Arigato" in Japanese. Here are some other effects that Emoto has found in his research:

* Water from clear mountain springs and streams has beautifully formed crystalline structures, while the crystals of polluted or stagnant water are deformed and distorted.

* Distilled water exposed to classical music takes delicate, symmetrical crystalline shapes. Interestingly, when the words "thank you" were taped to a bottle of distilled water, the frozen crystals had a similar shape to the crystals formed by water that had been exposed to Bach's "Goldberg Variations" (see right) - music composed out of gratitude to the man it was named for!

* When Elvis Presley's "Heartbreak Hotel" was played to water, the resulting frozen crystals were split in two.

* When water samples were bombarded with heavy metal music or labeled with negative words, or when negative thoughts and emotions were focused intentionally upon them, the water did not form crystals at all and displayed chaotic, fragmented structures.

* When water was treated with aromatic floral oils, the water crystals tended to mimic the shape of the original flower. At right, water crystals were exposed to aromatic essence of chamomile (note the inset picture of the flowers themselves)





Of great interest for healing and just day-to-day well being is the extreme effect upon water crystals of negative words and ideas. When the words "Adolf Hitler" were taped to a bottle of distilled water, the results seen at left were obtained. You Fool click to enlarge



At left, you can see the results of taping the words "You Fool" to a container of distilled water. Interestingly, this pattern was almost identical to the pattern that emerged when heavy metal music was played.
Masaru Emoto wonders in his book whether perhaps heavy metal musicians look upon people as fools. Also, he notes that this photo was taken in Germany using German words, but that the lab technicians did not speak German and did not know what was written on the container. Dr. Emoto concludes from this and other trials of the same nature that the words themselves operate independently of the intent of whoever is doing the experiment.

Another instructive set of pictures showed the amazing difference between the crystalline patterns evoked by the words "Let's do it" and the patterns produced by "Do it!" The "Let's do it" invitation produced crystals that were like beautiful snowflakes. The "Do it!" command did not cause any crystals at all to form.

In later experiments, Dr. Emoto found that it works best if the words taped to the water are turned toward the water itself, rather than outward toward the viewer. So if you are experimenting with the Emoto Effect, put the words inside, toward the jar. Note that Emoto has found the effect takes place almost instantaneously.

Of all the Emoto photographs I've seen, this one at left touches me the most. Japanese folk music was played to the water, and the water responded with an image reminiscent of the costumes that the women wear when they are dancing! This formation shows not simply a sympathetic vibration, but intelligence. The water is speaking to us: "Do you not see? We know you. We are here and we understand. We give you greetings."

Sometimes, dear friends, when we cannot see the immediate results of our prayers and affirmations, we think that we have failed. But, as we learn through Masaru Emoto's amazing photographs, a thought of failure would automatically become its own self-fulfilling prophecy.
Understanding this, perhaps we can begin to realize that even when immediate results are not visible to the unaided human eye, these results nevertheless do exist. And this understanding can give us faith, to know beyond any doubt that when we love our own bodies, they respond, and when we send our love to the Earth, she responds.

Our own bodies at birth are 70 percent water, and the percentage of water in our bodies remains high throughout life. The earth's surface is 70 percent water. And now we know - we have seen before our eyes the proof - that water is alive, intelligent, and responsive to our every thought and emotion. Perhaps, having seen this, we can begin to really understand the awesome power that we possess, through choosing our thoughts and intentions, to heal ourselves and Mother Earth. If only we believe.
